Many towns in Montenegro are created on the crossroads. Kolasin is the town, which was created on the border between the most beautiful relief forms – mountains of Sinjajevina, Javorje, Kapa moracka, Manganik, Bjelasica, Vucje and Kljuc. The Montenegrin beauty, River of Tara is emerging between their branches or besides them. Kolasin was created in its middle watercourse, which has an exceptional beauty. This real air spa is situated on the height of 965 metres above the sea level. The town history is not long, because the Turks founded it in the mid-17 th century. Today, the remnants of the Turkish town and fortress can be seen as well. In addition to the industry, Kolasin focused in the last thirty years on the tourism development. The town had orientation towards the winter and the summer tourism. Kolasin has excellent rail and road connections. It is found on the railway Belgrade-Bar, less than an hour drive from Podgorica. The highway Montenegrin Riviera-Serbia passes by the town. Around ten kilometres from Kolasin, there are ski grounds on Bjelasica (Jezerine-Cupovi, Cupovi-Kljuc).
